During their panel at SDCC, ShiftyLook announced their new comics and animated web series.
The first new comic in their line-up is a series written and drawn by Chris “Elio” Eliopoulous (Yo Gabba Gabba) titled Golly! Ghost! coming out in July. Essentially, Golly! Ghost! is “an eccentric arcade shooter from the 90s that keeps you blasting to keep supernatural denizens out of a haunted house”.
Secondly, ShiftyLook is giving us Klonoa in August, written by Jim Zub and drawn by manga-ka Hitoshi Ariga that will “breathe new life into the Playstation platformer in a classic manga style”.
Thirdly, we’ll be graced with the presence of Dragon Spirit in September, which had been adapted from the 80s shooter of the same name. Also written by Jim Zub, it’ll have a comedic bend to it, adding some tongue and cheek to this traditional fantasy title.
Lastly, ShiftyLook will be launching two new animated web series Bravoman and Mappy: The Beat, an arcade title from 1983, chronicles the adventures of a rogue mouse policeman who is chasing after unruly cats. Written by both Scott Kurtz (PvP) and Kris Straub (chainsawsuit), while Mary Kagle creates the art in the companion webcomic, Mappy: The Beat will be available in late 2012.
The second web series, Bravoman, coming out next year, will feature the voice actor talents of Rob Paulsen (Animaniacs). You’ll need to check back at ShiftLook for updates and sneak peaks on this title as the launch date gets closer.
These new comics will be available free on Shiftylook.com!
I’ll be checking out Shifty Look again with this one. Also Rob Paulsen on Bravoman? YES!
