I am actually looking forward to watching this.
As some of you hard core comic book fans (or Canadians) may know, Captain Canuck has been around since 1975. Originally published by Comely Comix and Created by Ron Leishman and Richard Comely, Captain Canuck has been printed sporadically throughout the years. But as proof of that the world hasn’t forgotten the good Captain, Arne Olsen (the man who helped bring us Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie) is on board with Minds’s Eye Entertainment to adapt Richard Comely’s masked champion Captain Canuck to the big screen.
IDW Publishing recently published two hard cover collections of the original issues and those hard covers are gone my friends, completely sold out. Over 2 million copies of the comic have been sold worldwide since it’s original publication and 26 different editions have been printed. In 1995 the Canada Post issued a Captain Canuck postage stamp and Captain Canuck even got his face planted on the cover of Time magazine,so he obviously has his fans. Now Richard Comely and screenwriter Olsen will collaborate closely on the film together. Comely said “with Arne Olsen on board we are set to deliver a movie that will delight Captain Canuck followers and welcome new fans around the world”
I am not for sure how well it will sell at the movies but if it is made, then this guy is definitely there.
