ONE MORE DAY.
Comic book and Christopher Nolan fans, it’s almost here. The Dark Knight Rises premieres at midnight, July 20th. If you’re not one of those enjoying a Nolan Batman marathon before the premiere, here’s something to help pass the time until midnight: DC Entertainment and comic book retailers across the U.S. have declared Thursday, July 19th “The Dark Knight Rises” Day. In celebration of this awesome holiday, fans who visit their local comic shops on July 19th can receive a free special edition comic book with Batman related content. The free book will feature several exclusive previews of current and upcoming Batman comics and graphic novels, according to DC Comics’ official press release.
The book features the first chapter of Batman: Earth One by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank. It also has a preview of the acclaimed Batman Vol. 1 The Court of Owls, by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. Over 500,000 copies of the free book will be handed out on “The Dark Knight Rises” Day, but it’s first-come, first-served basis. Make sure you get to your shop early to grab one.
Want to make “The Dark Knight Rises” Day even better? You could win two tickets to The Dark Knight Rises: The IMAX Experience from us. We’ll also be giving away a $25 gift card to Comixology. All you have to do is follow Comics Crux on Twitter and retweet our TDKR contest to win big.
