Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando resort and Universal Hollywood are known for scaring the living daylights out of people every Halloween, but this year will be better and even more intense. This year the dead will walk and park attendees will have something to fear as AMC’s The Walking Dead is brought to life in both parks.
That’s right folks, you read it right, The Walking Dead is coming to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Now we’re not talking about some haunted house with a few zombies scaring folks. No, this will be an accurate representation as possible of some the sets and locations that fans have watched in seasons one and two of the TV series. Fans will be actually leaving the comforts of their homes and entering the horrors that they’ve only seen on the screens of their television sets.
The Walking Dead’s show executive producer and special effects whiz Greg Nicotero said this about the announcement:
“We want people to experience the same terror of the walker-filled reality our characters faced in seasons one and two – and will continue to face in our third season. Our collaboration with Universal Studios’ creative teams is exciting as we work to truly capture the essence of the show.”
In addition, John Murdy, Creative Director at UniversalStudios Hollywood also stated:
“With ‘The Walking Dead,’ we want to make fans of the series feel like they are literally walking in the footsteps of the show’s characters, experiencing all of the horrific events from the series just as they experienced them.
The goal is to make guests of Halloween Horror Nights feel like they are trapped in the world of ‘The Walking Dead,’ using all of the attention to detail and movie-quality production values that Halloween Horror Nights has become famous for. You’re no longer sitting on a couch, watching a show…you’re living it!”

With this and the Silent Hill theme, I might actually go for the first time in years. Good job HHN!
