Comics Crux

     

You can love them, find them interesting, or even laugh at them, but there is one thing for sure; Fan Group Organizations make our con experience even better by bringing our favorite comics, movies, and games to life. They complement the things we enjoy and make them real for us. By getting to know the people involved in the Fan Groups we benefit by learning more about our interest and making new friends. Let’s face it, the geek in all of us wishes we could be in our favorite show, or be one of the heroes in our comics. You may find you enjoy it so much you want to join one of these organizations.

Many different types of people participate in these organizations, meaning your Con experience becomes an even better opportunity for mixing with people from a variety of backgrounds. By joining an organization you have the chance to mature socially through interaction with others from all over the country and even the world. Not only does this give you the chance to take part in your favorite past times and the opportunity to interact with more people, but also to potentially form long-lasting relationships with some of them.

Here are just a few of the interesting groups you can look forward to at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con:

• Comics4Kids are not for profit champions in the industry who take comic books and give them away to children to help promote literacy, imagination, and spread the comic book medium.
• D20 Girls break down stereotypes. They are women united across the US through their love for the gaming world. Specifically geared towards promoting a female spirit in the gaming industry these girls are smart, sure of themselves and organized. They have successfully promoted a positive image of girls among gamers and others.
• Heroes Fallen Studios, a non-profit 501c-3 veteran based organization that supports our troops. For any of you that are reading this that have served in our military, I would like to start by saying on behalf of Comics Crux, Thank You! I really like Heroes Fallen Studios, this group tells about the real heroes, real life stories of what they went through and what they did for others. I can’t say it enough; support our troops! Let’s be honest, the military is where many of our ideas for sci-fi, comic books, and fantasy have been inspired from. Our military men and women today are one of the comic book world’s biggest supporters. So let’s all support them back. By the way check out the art work while you’re there, some cool stuff.
