In light of the recent developments with Daredevil, could Marvel actually get the film rights back? It’s been mentioned that Fox has been losing interest in Joe Carnahan’s take on the character. Carnahan himself has mentioned it on his twitter, so could this mean that Fox will scramble to find another idea by Oct. 10th, or is Fox even going to try? Which leads me to wonder about the possibilities of what could happen if Marvel got the rights back?
These are just a few of my thoughts on what Marvel could do.One take I’d like to see pursued is the direction Mark Waid has taken with Daredevil. You can see that balance between street level adventure while he’s interacting with the Marvel Universe. That would be such a nice fit for the Marvel movie-verse because it would make him his own person while being able to place him better in the larger scheme of their movie world.
Really, I expect a translation of a Frank Miller’s Daredevil to be in the works. I wouldn’t mind this honestly, but the way that the Marvel movies are going, Miller’s Daredevil might not entirely fit what the Marvel Movie-verse is going for. Not a bad idea, but still not sure I’d head into this.
Now with Mark Waid and Frank Miller’s Daredevil runs being mentioned so far, what about a movie balancing both the light and dark aspects of the character? I say that could actually work. A series of three movies showing a progression of Daredevil throughout the ages. Seeing him start out darker and get progressively lighter as the movies continue on. I think that would be a fun idea for any director or directors to play with.
There are still no guarantees as of yet that Marvel is going to get the Daredevil film rights back, but unless Fox scrambles, it could very well happen. Let me know what ideas you would like to see if Marvel gets the rights back, because as in life, there’s always a series of possibilities.
I had to play around with this idea, because I love the idea of Daredevil being back in Marvel’s hands and different...
