In a follow up to my Daredevil: Series of Possibilities article yesterday, Joe Carnahan released two sizzle reels, one PG-13 and one NC-17 for extra scenes of violence. Whichever one you see, gives you an idea of the direction he wanted to head in for this movie. Within these reels shows a grittier Daredevil and a realistic depiction of the world around him. A different take on the character than what the 2003 Daredevil revealed to us.In my own personal thoughts on the trailer, there’s potential here. It’s not initially the direction I would have gone in, but I have to admit I like how this looks. The period was set off well just from this reel. This could have been a strong direction for this movie but we’ll never know considering that Fox passed on it. Alas, another in a series of possibilities that at least will be preserved with the power of youtube.
