Yesterday on twitter, Rob Liefeld announced that he is leaving DC Comics. With Issue #0 of Deathstroke, Grifter, and Hawkman being his final issues on those respective titles. His tweets detailed that he wasn’t happy with the last minute changes, editorial interference, and it echoed a lot of statements DC writers have had within the New 52. Rob Liefeld is one of the polarizing personalities within the comic industry. He’s being brutally honest about what happened with DC and he gives a pointed look into the culture within DC Comics right now. Say what you want about Rob Liefeld, he’s laying it out there for the world to see and holding nothing back. As he put it in one of his tweets, he wants to have any news that appears come from his mouth only.
His brutal honesty is still balanced by his overall enthusiasm for the New 52, shockingly enough. He’s happy about his time there even with the frustrations behind the scenes. In my case, I’m hit or miss on the man for the most part.I appreciate his enthusiasm for comics and I generally respect his opinions. Will Liefeld reveal more in the weeks to come about his time at DC Comics? Stay tuned and find out because knowing Rob, he’s only at the tip of the iceberg of what he’ll reveal next.

Rob Liefeld had a pretty comfortable job. He drew a lot of bad art and DC never seemed to say no to his work. And then...
