Sprouting from the popular Tomorrowland festival, Paul Jenkins and Stellar Labs are bringing you the Tomorrowland #1 comic, due out in September from Titan Comics.

This three-day weekend is not just any this three-day holiday weekend: Saturday, May 25 is Geek Pride Day! Okay, maybe every day is Geek Pride Day for many people (who decides these random holidays anyway?)

By this point we’ve all learned from the Man of Steel trailers that Superman’s “S” symbol doesn’t stand for Superman, but is instead his Kryptonian family crest. As a way to publicize the movie’s impending release, you can get a kryptonian crest, house, and name of your own after answering a few simple questions at this site. To properly test its capabilities, I’ve posted the results from mine, as well as those from my cat and dog, below. Sadly our philosophical differences led us to different houses.

With the upcoming release of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox in July, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation have released the trailer for the upcoming film.

Did you ever wonder about the seedier side of the Golden Age of Television? Then you should take a look into Matt Fraction and Howard Chaykin’s Satellite Sam, set in the year 1951 in which you learn that life behind the Golden Age wasn’t so innocent and sweet.

Bryan Singer just broke some deceptively huge news on Twitter: Evan Peters, probably most famous for his roles in the popular anthology TV show American Horror Story, has been cast as Quicksilver.

DC has revealed their concepts for the new Anti-Batman and Robin - the ominously named Wrath and Scorn - who will soon be making their debut in Detective Comics. Here’s a bit of what Bob Harras had to say about them:

Over a few months of hearing nothing about the ESBUFFS (aka Super Best Friends Forever) there’s been two signs that the series may not be dead and gone.

The SBFF are, of course, the trinity of Supergirl, Wonder Girl and Batgirl from the fantastic animated short series done by Lauren Faust for DC…

Let’s do this.

So Flippin' Awesome: The Adventure Time Annual Is Stuffed With Stories From The Land Of Ooo

BOOM! Studios announced the release of their first-ever Adventure Time Annual, bursting with short stories in the Land of Ooo. Oh. My. GLOB!

This summer there are tons of exciting films dropping in theaters, and one that many moviegoers are extremely excited about is Pacific Rim. In a summer season which is full of comic book films, this movie is a unique entry in which giant robots called “Jaegers”, piloted by two people, fight giant monsters which have come from deep in the Pacific ocean to run amok on the human population.

Astro Boy is a classic manga that was written by the “father of manga” Osama Tezuka and holds the title for becoming the first Japanese produced TV anime. It’s also been attributed to shaping Japanese views on science and technology. The original series debuted in 1952 and if you weren’t around back then to read it, publisher Dark Horse offers a translation in print and digital formats. In honor of the classic manga, Dark Horse has created a featurette for anyone who is interested in learning more about Astro Boy.

This Week in Comic Book History for the week of May 21, 2013 starts off the X-event called “Revolution” that was all over the X-Men books back in May, 2000.

Read More Here

Image's Sheltered Examines The Consequences Of Raising Children During The Pre-Apocalypse

Dystopian and post-apocalyptic stories often speak volumes about society and human nature, and the forthcoming series Sheltered seems to have a similar theme — almost. In this new series from Image Comics, the founders of a survivalist colony are fully prepared for whatever the end of civilization throws at them. Unfortunately, “the threat to their existence comes from a source they never expected: their own children.”

Earlier this week, Paizo Publishing and Dynamite Entertainment announced a comic miniseries featuring the goblins of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Although Dynamite has been publishing Pathfinder Comics for nearly a year, this will be the first series to spotlight the goblins.

Read More Here

The Next Season Of Arrow Promises Two Major DC Villains, But Who Will They Be?

The big surprise of the TV season last fall was, in my own personal opinion, Arrow. Now that the second season is on the way, the stakes are high in seeing how it can top this year. Producer Marc Guggenheim has recently said that to up the ante, the upcoming season is going to feature two major DC Villains.

Remember the time not so long ago when a movie came out about a certain character who’s the best at what he does and what he does isn’t very nice and many fans (such as myself) hated it and tried to forget that the film even existed? Well, while fans are (cautiously) looking forward to The Wolverine’s debut this July, Marvel Knights Animation is bringing us a film about the Ol’ Canucklehead’s origins that we might actually enjoy!

Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Sony and Microsoft started aggressively pushing their next-gen consoles. Today, Microsoft announced and discussed some of the features of the bafflingly-named Xbox One, and in addition to news about the console, they also revealed that Halo, probably the definitive X-Box property, will be coming as a live-action TV show thanks in part to the involvement of legendary director Steven Spielberg.

Anxious to see what the new Avengers Assemble series is like? Disney XD, Marvel Television and Apple have teamed up to offer the premiere episode of the animated series as a free download on iTunes.

To start this off, Greg Rucka and Michael Lark’s Lazarus is one of the most highly anticipated comics of the year. They worked together on one of my favorite series - Gotham Central, for DC Comics - and that’s enough to sell me on Lazarus already. Here’s what they’re up to for this story, Lazarus is a full-on dystopia. The wealth of this world is controlled by elite Families, each one protected by someone called a “Lazarus”. One in particular for the Carlyle Family is named Forever, and the family she protects is in charge of all genetic and research development for the entire world. Her story begins as she takes her final breath.
