“You can never have enough Batman. […] I was sitting around, thinking what could the world need more of and I thought to myself, ‘Batman — on a weekly basis.’”
When asked in a recent interview whether or not the world needs more Batman, that is how Batman scribe Scott Snyder replied. Announced at New York Comic Con, this spring will bring Batman: Eternal to the world, a weekly series set around Batman and the many denizens and corners of Gotham City.
We are a little bit past the halfway point in CHEW, but it seems like the party is just getting started.
Tony Chu is coming out of his shell and it seems to be more evident in every issue. Back in 2009, CHEW was a comedy with a half-serious overtone to it. Chu was a bottom-of-the-chain FDA Agent who ate anything he was told to eat and let’s just say the menu was never appetizing. While we have trekked deeper into the story, Chu become more of his own person.
Perhaps it was last summer that I originally heard about the plans to adapt Chew - an ongoing comic published by Image - to television, so it’s excellent to hear more news about the progress.
