Jaime Hernandez, artist and co-creator of the critically acclaimed Love & Rockets, has created the mascot for Comic Book Legal Defense Fund’s 2013 membership program. This year members receive membership cards designed by Hernandez himself, and have the opportunity to receive exclusive items featuring his work.

This has been an exciting week for fans of Los Bros Hernandez’s Love and Rockets series, and Fantagraphics and comiXology just made it a lot more exciting.
Earlier yesterday, at a SDCC panel celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first publication of Love and Rockets, Fantagraphics announced their jump into digital distribution through their newly penned agreement with comiXology; the digital comics giant who reported 12 million digital downloads between May and June of 2012.

As a massive fan of both Jaimie Hernandez and Superheroines, my love of the Ti-Girls was written in the stars long before I picked up the first volume of Love and Rockets: New Stories. Now, Fantagraphics is offering the “director’s cut” of the Ti-Girls Adventures all compiled in God and Science: Return of the Ti-Girls. In addition to the entire run of the series, this beautiful, large format hardcover offers 30 pages of new material including four new, full-color covers and extended scenes. If you order from their site (here) you can also receive the limited supply mini-comic, Before Love and Rockets featuring punk-rock posters by Jaime Hernandez and an eight-page story from Gilbert Hernandez. If you are a fan of either Jaime Hernandez or traditional capes-and-tights stories, you’ll only be doing yourself a service by purchasing this right now.
