Unless you consider yourself to be someone who is all the way out of their damn mind, you’re probably, like the rest of us, anxiously awaiting the release of the 13th issue of Saga, coming from the super talented duo of Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples this August. While your BKV deficits may have been sated with the release of another one of his stories - Private Eye - and a new TV series he penned, adapted from Steven King’s Under the Dome, it was nice to see an interview spring up the other day on CBR. While not quite tipping his hat as to where issue 13 will take us, he did discuss the success of Saga, as well as, his hopes for Private Eye, what exactly is happening with the Y: The Last Man movieand other hard-hitting topics like the dynamics of anthropomorphized seals’ in cute yellow overalls.

Finally! After months without news on the Y: The Last Man film adaptation, New Line Cinema has appointed a director. Dan Trachtenberg, whom you may know from his live-action Portal short film, will direct the adaptation of the dystopian comic by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra.
Stuck in production limbo for the past five-years, the big screen adaptation of Y: The Last man may finally come to fruition. Reports in March surfaced that writers Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia, formerly of the show Jericho, entered negotiations with New Line Cinema to take a crack at writing the screenplay. New Line is apparently quite pleased with the adaptation and has gone ahead and allowed for the producers attached to the film to find a director.
